The Summit Arizona Elementary School has earned nationally recognized accreditation from the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). Our elementary program is the bridge between the outstanding preschool program and the exceptional Middle School experience at Summit. Our philosophy embraces the idea that it is important to educate the whole child. Our curriculum and teaching methods address cognitive development and learning across disciplines, while attending to students’ academic, creative, physical and emotional growth.
Firmly grounded in educational research and best practices, our integrated curriculum provides the foundation for understanding concepts and their practical applications. Philosophy
Summit teachers coach, guide, lead and inspire. Faculty members are selected for their mastery of five qualities: compassion for students; knowledge of the subject matter; understanding how children learn best; willingness to learn and apply the best teaching methods; and the ability to challenge students to question, observe, investigate and evaluate.
We truly believe that parents are our partners in the educational development of the children who attend Summit. Our parents collaborate with their children and teachers to help establish documented goals for the school year. We call this the Personal Education Plan©. Throughout the year parents meet with teachers on a regular basis keeping parents informed about their children’s progress and providing specific ways they can reinforce learning at home.
